It has been announced today that Academy Award®-Winner Nicolas Cage has joined the cast of Oliver Stone’s, “SNOWDEN”. Cage will play the role of a former U.S. Intelligence Official in the highly anticipated international thriller.
Principal photography is currently underway in Munich and will continue in various locations around the world until mid-May.

The film stars Joseph Gordon-Levitt (The Dark Night Rises, Inception) in the title role alongside a critically-acclaimed cast comprising of Golden Globe® Nominee, Shailene Woodley (Divergent, White Bird, The Descendants), Academy Award®-Winner, Melissa Leo (Prisoners, The Fighter), Zachary Quinto (Star Trek: Into Darkness), Tom Wilkinson (Michael Clayton, Batman Begins, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind), Rhys Ifans (The Amazing Spider-Man, Notting Hill), Joely Richardson (The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, The Patriot) and Timothy Olyphant (I Am Number Four, This Is Where I Leave You).
Pathé Films developed the project with Stone’s long-time producing partner Moritz Borman and have retained distribution rights for France and Benelux. Wild Bunch is handling international sales in all other territories, with Open Road Films and Endgame Entertainment partnering for the U.S. release.
The film is being produced by Moritz Borman, Eric Kopeloff and Philip Schulz-Deyle.
Open Road Films will release the film on December 25th; Pathe will open France on December 30th and Universum have dated Germany on January 7th. Other distributors include Gaga for Japan.
